Hey guys! Sorry for my lack of post. I was really tired out yesterday from all the stuff I had to take care of. I will be leaving Manila real soon (on the 30th) and Im really going to miss all my friends and all the new people I’ve met! Anyway before we go into that here is a quick recap of my day 6 & 7 at Eclipse.
Day 6 – Because I came in during the afternoon Coach Vic had to leave so I was endorsed over to Angela and Coach Ricky/ So they were in charge in putting me through hell and back for that day! I had tons of fun but I also almost collapsed because I really pushed myself a little too far. But I was able to finish and survive. I started off with my usual warm up on the Elliptical and then Angela assisted me in doing box jumps with a 2 kg Medicine ball. Place an elevated surface like a tire or one of those step mats, depending on what you can do, we used several plates stacked on each other to create a suitable elevation for me. Place both feet apart on the ground to each side of the elevation. Then you squat down on the ground touching the ball to the floor and then jump on to the platform bringing your feet together and raise your hands that are holding the medicine ball high up into the air and then jump down from the platform feet apart, squatting again and medicine ball touching the ground, I did 10 reps of that followed by another 10 reps of lateral shuffle jumps. Stand with one leg on the box and one off (both feet square). Jump laterally so that your foot that was on the floor is now on the box. The foot that was on the box is on the opposite side of the floor as your other foot was before the jump.I was not able to take photographs because I had forgotten to bring my camera that day. So 10 reps of both workouts 5 sets.
After that it was Coach Ricky’s turn to commence torture. He placed two benches on either sides of the room and placed 3 weights on one side. He told me to run to the bench with weights and transfer it to the other bench on the other side of the room. Of course I had to run and do it as fast as I could. Then right after I had to do this mat exercise when you drop to your knees, crawl in to a plank position and then crawl back to kneeling position and stand up and repeat. I don’t know what its called but if you do know it please do inform me. But for now I’m calling it “burpee crawls” LoL. I get to rest for about 45 sec to 1 minute in between sets.
Next I did another Box Jump thing but without the medicine ball.
Just jumping onto the platform and then jump back down. I had to do this for 30 seconds and then proceed on to mountain climbers for another 30 seconds. Repeat 5 sets.
Last but not the least Angela taught me the Clean and Press. See photo below:
I did 15 reps 3 sets using 14lbs (I know that’s light for some people but it got heavier for my around the 3rd set).
That sums up my 6th Day at Eclipse.
Day 7 was more on just plain old cardio cardio cardio. I guess I was given a little bit of a rest day by coach Vic. But tomorrow I’m pretty sure he will kick my butt again.
I’m really having fun with doing these types of workouts. My very first time in a gym here. First times to lift weights and have someone who whips my butt into shape! So until then. I will relish this rest time given to me. Wish me luck tomorrow!
